The MVHC invites all Islanders, year-round and seasonal residents and vacationers, to participate in its activities.
Although we were founded in 1940, our rapid growth to 350 family units has taken place since we moved into our new building in 1996.
We have year-round religious, educational, cultural, and social programming. Our services are designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of liberal practices. The congregation considers itself Reform, but uses Reconstructionist Shabbat and High Holiday Prayer Books.
Services are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Our Religious School meets on Wednesday afternoons. We have year round programming and Adult Education classes.
During the summer months, the MVHC Summer Institute presents films of Jewish interest on Sunday evenings at the Center and a lecture series on Thursday evenings.
All of our programs and events are held in The Harriet B. Freedberg Learning Center.
