The Annual Membership Meeting for 2024 will be held at the Hebrew Center, 130 Center Street, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568, on Sunday, July 14th at 9:30 a.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to hear or distribute annual reports, to approve the minutes of last year’s meeting, the nominated slate of Officers and Trustees, approve the proposed FY25 Budget, and any other matter that may arise.

  • The meeting will be a hybrid of in-person and remote attendance.
  • Registration will be required to attend in person or remotely.
  • Annual Meeting Documents – Agenda, Slate of Trustees, proposed Budget and other documents will be available shortly to view on the website, and follow in another email.
  • If you are not certain that you will attend the meeting, whether in person or via Zoom, please submit a Proxy.
  • The meeting is open to all members in good standing who wish to cast a vote.
  • The section of the ByLaws which sets rules for the meeting and mandates this mailing is printed below.

Article IV – Meetings
Section 1 – The Annual Meeting of the Congregation shall take place on the second Sunday of July or such other date in July as designated by the Board of Trustees. Separate written notice of the Annual Meeting and appropriate proxy forms shall be sent to all members of the Congregation in good standing at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the date of the meeting, specifying the date, time, place and purpose of the meeting.
Section 3 – Seventy five (75) members of the Congregation in good standing shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting of the congregation, No decision, however, shall be taken unless supported by a vote of a majority (except where a two-thirds (2/3) vote is required, as in Articles VIII, X and XIII) of members of the Congregation in good standing, present at the meeting or by proxy, at the time of the meeting.
Section 4 – At all meetings of the membership, any member in good standing shall be entitled to vote in person or by proxy. The designated proxy shall be limited to a person whose name appears on the active membership rolls and whose dues payments are current. Such proxy must be in writing and filed with the Recording Secretary before the meeting.
