“Finding God”, a class with Rabbi Jonathan Lipnick, highlighting the work of Mordecai Kaplan, A.J. Heschel, Judith Plaskow, and Richard Rubenstein.

The class will be an opportunity to explore our own relationship with God in real time.

In addition to text study, we will be having peer to peer conversations about G d’s presence or absence in our daily lives.

Jonathan Lipnick is a rabbi, educator, and actor. He has taught classes in Yiddish literature and served as the cantorial soloist for the high holidays at MVHC. Rabbi Lipnick worked as the rabbi-in-residence at the William Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education at Jewish Theological Seminary. Prior to JTS, he directed the Jewish studies program at the Rodeph Sholom School, served as the Director of Judaic programming at the Heschel School, and was on faculty at Park Avenue Synagogue High School. He has co-facilitated bereavement groups through the National Jewish Healing Center, and has taught at the 92nd Street Y. Rabbi Lipnick is excited to be offering this 4 part series on God. We will explore the work of 4 theologians as a springboard for understanding our own relationship with God. “Finding God”is a highly interactive classroom experience.
