Contact Your Legislators about JALSA (Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action) Priorities
Ask Your Legislators to Co-sponsor These Bills:
The Location Shield Act and
The Dignity Not Deportations Act
With the new legislative session underway, JALSA is ready to take action on key legislative priorities, beginning with the Location Shield Act and the Dignity Not Deportations Act (formerly ICE Out of Mass). Both of these bills will address threats that we are seeing from the federal level. We’ll be rolling out many more priority bills in the next few weeks!
The Location Shield Act, which you may remember from last session, would ban the sale and trade of cellphone location data. This will protect people coming into our MA because they can no longer access abortions in their own states. You can get further details on this legislation and contact your state legislators to urge them to support and co-sponsor The Location Shield Act at this link.
The Dignity Not Deportations Act would prohibit immigration detention in Massachusetts state and local facilities and end the voluntary donation of local resources for federal immigration enforcement. You can get further details on this legislation and contact your state legislators to urge them to support and co-sponsor The Dignity Not Deportations Act at this link.
NOTE BEFORE CONTACTING YOUR LEGISLATORS!
Our new system makes it easy for Massachusetts residents to contact your state legislators on Beacon Hill. Just remember that you must:
- Enter your address to confirm your State Senator and State Representative who you will be contacting
- Edit the introductory greeting to include the names of your State Senator and/or State Representative
- Edit the closing salutation to include your name and address as a constituent before sending.
And feel encouraged to further personalize the message as you see fit.
